How to Paint Everything Seraphon Goonhammer
I'm thinking of starting seraphon but am having an unexpected challenge: Deciding on a color scheme. While many armies have 1-3 core colors, and a few often tied to realism (metal colored weapons, wood color etc.) seraphon are giving me trouble in starting out since there are so few constraints and so many different types of creatures.

Aethermatic blue for skin, a little bit of basilicanum grey mixed into arkhelian green or ultramarines blue for the scales. Both options look similar enough to have cohesion throughout the scheme but give slight variation to the army. Akhelian Green (pure for scales, thinned for the skin), Flesh Tearers Red (for shields etc), Black Templar.

This scheme is mostly focused on expediency as opposed being some amazing technical work, but I still think it can make even the old Saurus model look surprisingly good!. with a color scheme that was meant to pop on the tabletop but also be quick and easy to do. Contrast paint helped a lot.

You could do something simple like all of the underskin is the same and all the scales are different if you want more uniformity or whatever, or make all the shields the same but go wild with the skin. The entire line is a bit a long in the tooth but it's fine and has a lot of room for painting a wild rainbow color scheme if you don't want to be shackled down by doing the same thing over and over. A vibrant colour scheme is perfect for the mystical Starborne Seraphon, and red stands out brilliantly. This Saurus Warrior started with a base of Wraithbone - the skin was then painted with Flesh Tearers Red and highlighted with Evil Sunz Scarlet , Wild Rider Red , and Fire Dragon Bright , while a thinned Abaddon Black wash and Tuskgor Fur highlight darkened the scales.

For the traditional color scheme, I would get these Contrast paints: Aethermatic Blue for the base flesh. Tallasar Blue for the Saurus back and head scales. Terradon Turquoise for the Skink back scales. Flesh Tearers or Dark Angels Red for red shields, tongues, etc. Nazdreg Yellow for the gold bits.

Looking online there are a whole host of exciting color schemes and painting styles you can use for the Seraphon, so I did my best at ignoring them all and finding my own way of ruining these models. Seraphon Saurus/Skink colour scheme I've got the new codex and I was incredibly disappointed to find four pages with very basic painting schemes. The annoying part was that the 'Saurus Skin and Scales' is painted entirely with the same method leaving behind a very bland looking lizard.
