This coat would be perfect if it had a phone pocket. It literally only has hand pockets. A coat like this should have interior best zip pocket. Exterior chest zip pockets. Big ole interior flat pockets because WHY NOT. You're in -40 weather and your hands have to share tiny pockets with keys, phone, etc.

The 2.35 oz (67 grams) of fill weight, on the other hand, is very low. Ridiculously low, to be precise. Patera also comes with 60 + 80 gsm Coreloft synthetic reinforcements in areas prone to tear and abrasion. But even my much-lighter-in-comparison Thorium AR has twice as much down with MORE synthetic fill. Lol.

The Centrale ($799), on the other hand, is touted as Arc'teryx warmest waterproof down parka, featuring 6.2 ounces of 750-fill down (compared to the Patera's 5 oz.) and a more durable 90-denier shell. But for $150 more, we're not sure the added warmth is worth it, and will stick with the sweet-spot Patera for most winter conditions.
