I have a 5c nfc and it works flawlessly with my iphone 13pro via NFC. Using the usb-c connector also works perfectly with my MacBook Pro M1 laptop. It does NOT work by plugging into my iPad mini 6 that has a usb-c port. The iPads also don't have/support nfc, so you're SOL when it comes to iPads.
