Unlike Kawasaki's last big twin, the BSA-clone W650, the KZ750 was thoroughly up-to-date. The 55 horsepower, 745cc twin had double overhead cams, shim and bucket valve adjustment, a Morse Hy-Vo primary drive chain and five forward gears. Vertical twins vibrate, so Kawasaki gave the 750 a pair of chain-driven counter balancers. It worked.

KAWASAKI Z 750 TWIN
The Kawasaki Z750, also called Z2, is a four cylinder motorcycle made by Kawasaki as part of their Z series, introduced in 1973 for the Japanese market. Regulations at the time mandated a maximum capacity of 750 cc (46 cu in), so the 900 cc (55 cu in) Kawasaki Z1 could not be sold in Japan.

カワサキ・750RS （ななひゃくごじゅうアールエス）は、 川崎重工業 （現・ カワサキモータース ）が 1973年 から 1975年 にかけて製造・販売していた総排気量746ccの オートバイ である。 通称 は型式名からZ2（ゼッツーと読む。 関西では「ゼッ ト ツー」）もしくはやはり関西での通称だが（車名の750RSより）「アールエス」。 概要 カワサキは 1972年 に排気量903ccの Z1 を発売し、 欧米 で高い人気を博し販売成績も好調であったが、日本国内では業界の自主規制（ 大型自動二輪 参照）により 750cc 超の オートバイ は販売できなかったため、750ccクラスの国内版モデルが必要であった。

Kawasaki says the engine in the RS is tuned for low- and mid-range power, but when you open the butterflies and let the 'ol girl breathe in some air, the intake growl sounds meaner than the bark coming from the other end. The bike really scoots, and though you won't find a quickshifter or autoblipper here, shifting the old-fashioned way.

1973 Kawasaki H2 750. This H2A has under 7k miles and runs fantastic with tons of power. It is a "period correct" hot rod and features chromed performance expansion chambers and free-flow individual air filters. It has lower handlbars for a more aggressive stance and a Barnett clutch. The chaingaurd was chromed.
