Officieel begint carnavals pas op zondag maar in Venlo starten de meeste grote evenementen al op zaterdag 18 februari 2023 en duren tot en met dinsdag 21 februari 2023. De weken ervoor zijn ook al tal van evenementen. Het carnavalsseizoen start namelijk al op 11 november (11e van de 11e).
