The labarum ( Greek: λάβαρον or λάβουρον [2]) was a vexillum (military standard) that displayed the "Chi-Rho" symbol ☧, a christogram formed from the first two Greek letters of the word "Christ" ( Greek: ΧΡΙΣΤΟΣ, or Χριστός) - Chi (χ) and Rho (ρ).
