The theme of the Adoration of the Magi is set within the context of the celebration of the Feast of Epiphany in which, according to St. Augustine, all peoples respond to the call of Christ. Leonardo sketched out a very complex composition, rich in figures, organized in a semicircle, with the Virgin and Child as its fulcrum.
