The 2 km long sandy beach Pineta di Maria Pia is located in the bay of Alghero in the direction of the airport town Fertilia. Free and paid parking is available on the lakeside road behind the beach. This amazing beach is located just after the " Lido " (also known with its full name of " Lido di San Giovanni ", that becomes " Saint John' shore " in English), at a very short distance from the historic center of the Catalan city.

Arrival is through a pine forest 2 minutes walk from the main road, where there is car park for about 5 euros a day. it is possible to arrive from Alghero by bus or on foot, about 1/2 hour walk. it is possible to rent parasols in some parts of the beach but useful to bring your own. A rest in the pine forest at lunch time is superb.
