Chinpracha House, Phuket Town Thailand Life
One of the oldest and most beautiful Sino Portuguese Mansions in Phuket is Chinpracha house. It is over 100 years old and was built in 1903 by Prapitak Chinpracha. Most of the furniture belonged to his ancestors from China, the fences are from Holland and the marble floors from Italy. Chinpracha House is beautifully maintained and listed as one.

Chinpracha House is located in Old Phuket Town on Krabi Road, a few metres from the Blue Elephant and Cooking School. It is closed on Sunday and there is a small entrance charge. The Chinpracha House was built by Prapitak Chinpracha, who was born in Phuket into a Chinese family which had immigrated to Phuket in 1854. Like many other families, the Chinpracha family came to Phuket as economic migrants seeking work in Phuket's tin mining industry, which had flourished since tin mining had started on the island in the mid.
