El Faro de Punta Martiño, inaugurado un 30 de julio de 1865, se levanta sobre la montaña del mismo nombre, en el extremo norte del Islote de Lobos. Se ubica en el estrecho que separa Fuerteventura de Lanzarote.Inicialmente funcionó con aceite de oliva, luego pasó al combustible de parafina y petróleo, hasta llegar al acetileno en 1923.

FARO DE PUNTA MARTIÑO (Corralejo) All You Need to Know BEFORE You Go
Se iluminó por primera vez el 30 de julio de 1865 como faro de 6º orden, alimentado inicialmente con aceite de oliva y con un alcance de 9 millas náuticas. Posteriormente se utilizó como combustible parafina y petróleo y en 1923 acetileno, aumentando su alcance hasta 14 millas. En la actualidad se encuentra electrificado y automatizado.

Tuesday 24th November and we took a boat trip to the Island of Los Lobos, where this Lighthouse is one of the notable features. It is situated on the top of a hill on the north eastern end of the Island.There is a pathway leading to the Lighthouse, which is 3 and an a half kilometres and is roughly a 50 minute walk from El Mulle (landing pier).
