I put everything back together and today I'm trying to set the timing on my injection pump and no matter what position I set the injection pump to, it always says "timing too advanced to plot".

I have looked at Timing the diesel pump on here but wondered if ther was an easier way than with a dial gauage etc? Just had my belts done and the local guy said he just marked up the pump etc and put it back - I am not convinced it.
